Attacking midfielder Jean-Paul Boëtius shared some very joyous news. The Dutch footballer announced that he has beaten cancer for the second time in his life.
"I am now stronger than ever. I have changed as a person... I am Jean-Paul Boëtius, ready for new achievements and a two-time cancer survivor", – wrote the footballer on his Instagram.
Boëtius was first diagnosed with testicular cancer in August 2022, shortly after signing with Hertha Berlin. The initial treatment was successful, but unfortunately, the disease returned in March of this year.
Hertha Berlin was the last club Boëtius played for. However, he plans to resume his career soon. Previously, Boëtius also played for Mainz, Basel, and Feyenoord.
In 2014, Boëtius was first called up to the Netherlands national team, for which he played one match.
As a reminder, former Leicester head coach Craig Shakespeare passed away yesterday due to cancer.
